About the Language and Ecology Research Forum
The Language and Ecology Research Forum is dedicated to research which analyzes language not only within a social context, but also within an ecological context. This is in recognition of the fact that societies are embedded within the natural ecosystems that sustain life. The main focus is on the links between discursively constructed social reality, ecological sustainability, and environmental justice. The other main function of the Forum is to use cutting-edge ecolingusitic research to inform Education for Sustainable Development across the curriculum in higher education.
The Forum consists of a network of international researchers, the online journal Language & Ecology, an active student section, ongoing research projects, bibliographies, and other research resources.
